Privacy Policy

Georgia Sheriffs’ Association, Inc. is a tax exempt charitable organization under IRC Section 501(c)(3). We are not a private foundation, therefore, your gift receives the maximum deduction under IRC code 509(a)(1).

In order to provide you with the proper receipts to show our appreciation for your generosity, personal data will be gathered. This includes name, address, phone number, and e-mail address. This information will only be accessed by authorized employees and only used for business purposes. We feel very strongly about protecting the personal data our donors have provided and will be thorough in securing this data.

Contributions received by check are used to make a one-time electronic fund transfer from your account. Electronic check conversion is a more efficient, safer and secure way of processing paper checks. When paying by check, you are authorizing us to send the information electronically to your bank for payment or to process the payment as a check transaction. Funds may be withdrawn from your account the same day your payment is received. Your bank account will be debited for the amount of your payment and the transaction will appear on your bank statement under “Other Debits”. However, your check will not be returned to you. If you do not wish to have your check converted into an electronic debit or if you have questions about electronic check processing, please call 770-914-1076. Checks processed under the electronic check conversion system will be securely retained by us for six months and then properly destroyed.

We may list your name in our publication, The Georgia Sheriff, especially for certain types of gifts or to recognize your support. You ALWAYS have the option, at any time, to make your gift with the condition of “No Publicity” or “Anonymous”. We will honor and respect your privacy.

PLEASE NOTE – THE GEORGIA SHERIFFS’ ASSOCIATION AND THE GEORGIA SHERIFFS’ YOUTH HOMES NEVER CONDUCT TELEPHONE SOLICITATIONS. Please refer to the topic “Telephone Solicitations” (under the “About Us” tab on the website) for further information on how you may deal with telephone solicitations that you may receive from other organizations.

If you have any questions concerning our privacy policy, please contact Christie Luman at 770-914-1076. Remember, every contribution and every contributor is important to us!
