Advancing law enforcement careers in today’s competitive work environment can be very challenging. Promotions may depend on more than just job performance.
To help sheriffs and their staff better serve our communities and maximize their opportunity for professional success, the Georgia Sheriffs’ Association offers a wide variety of specialized training. Courses generally include classroom instruction, applicable site visits, and hands-on training.
Completion can enhance professional abilities, equip officers for challenges in specific fields of law enforcement, and (where applicable) ensure compliance with the latest statutes and case law decisions.

Training for Dedicated Law Enforcement Officers
The Georgia Sheriffs’ Association is committed to offering sheriffs, deputy sheriffs, and other officers frequent opportunities to attend premier training events related to the enforcement of criminal laws and the responsibilities of the Office of Sheriff.
At these events, officers will join together in pursuit of excellence in their speciality in law enforcement while learning better ways to maintain peace, protect life and property and serve the community.
